DON LEMON: --clarify two or three times,
you think that's fine?
KYLIE MAR: Former Ohio governor John Kasich
joined "CNN Tonight" with Don Lemon
on Wednesday, where they got in a heated
debate over President Trump's address earlier in the night.
During his address, Trump suggested
the US would be implementing a very restrictive ban on travel
from Europe for 30 days, beginning Friday at midnight.
DONALD TRUMP: To keep new cases from entering our shores,
we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United
States for the next 30 days.
And these prohibitions will not only
apply to the tremendous amount of trade and cargo,
but various other things.
KYLIE MAR: Not long after the address,
Trump posted a tweet clarifying that goods from Europe
would not be affected, and the Department of Homeland Security
put out a statement with more specifics
concerning who will be allowed to enter the country.
The need for the clarification, and Kasich brushing it off,
was the point of contention between Lemon and Kasich.
JOHN KASICH: Look, I don't want to get into that.
What was on today-- DON LEMON: Why not?
That's why you're here, to talk about the president's address.
JOHN KASICH: Can I finish now? Let me talk.
DON LEMON: No.
No, you can't, John.
John-- because we're here to talk about the president's--
JOHN KASICH: Oh, I can't talk? DON LEMON: Wait.
We're here-- I don't want you--
I don't want you to go on and deflect
and talk about something else.
KYLIE MAR: And it's the fact that medical experts have
repeatedly had to correct the president's
public comments concerning the coronavirus
that got Lemon so heated.
JOHN KASICH: What is it in the clarification
that you thought was so terrible?
Tell me what you thought--
DON LEMON: I didn't say I thought it was terrible.
I'm telling you that we're in the middle of a pandemic right
now.
We're in the middle of a pandemic.
JOHN KASICH: I know.
DON LEMON: And every time this president comes out,
he gives inaccurate information.
