- "The It List" is Yahoo's weekly look
at the best in pop culture.
With the coronavirus pandemic in mind,
here are our picks for the week of December 7.
New movie, "Wild Mountain Thyme,"
can be called many things--
bucolic, picturesque, verdant-- but early critics
are already calling out some of its Irish accents
as cringy at best.
- To take after John Kelly, and that man
was mad as the full moon.
Drowned himself.
- He fell in.
- He had a rock tied to his neck.
[WHIMPER]
- Christopher Walken's accent aside,
the movie pits Jon Hamm against Jamie Dornan
as they vie for the affection of Emily Blunt.
And based on the rainy yet romantic artwork,
we are getting serious "Notebook" vibes.
- You kissed him.
- It was he that kissed me!
- That's what got him worked up!
- And now for the most perfectly named reality
show of all time--
yes, I'm talking about "House of Ho."
The new HBO Max show follows the wealthy Ho family in Texas,
and promises a real-life version of "Crazy Rich Asians."
- What do you think of the decor, Leslie?
- Uh, less is more.
- You're definitely not a Ho.
- Why?
- More is more.
- Expect plenty of high drama bickering, luxury cars,
and homemade Vietnamese food.
- Thanks, mommy.
- And since Christmas is fast approaching,
NBC has a new version of Dr. Seuss's classic "Grinch" tale.
Previously, the Network's musicals
have included "Hairspray," featuring Ariana Grande, "Peter
Pan," featuring Allison Williams,
and "The Sound of Music," featuring Carrie Underwood.
This time, Glee alum Matthew Morrison
is playing the green menace himself
in the spectacle, which is airing from the Troubadour
Theater in London.
